Fandom: A Clockwork Orange
OU or AU: OU, but with mixed elements from the film and novel.
Personality: Alex is a walking paradox. He is extremely violent and cruel. He injures, rapes and even murders for his own amusement. At the same time, however, he seems almost innocent and is very easy to like. He is aware that what he does is wrong, and admits that if everyone acted like him society would not work. This doesn't seem to deter him very much, though, and he even seems puzzled when people try to stop him from acting badly.
History:
Alex is seventeen and a veteran of institutions for juvenile delinquents. He is part of a small gang (his "droogs") and although he is the youngest member he is also clearly its leader. One of the droogs, Georgie, resents him and sets him up to be captured at the site of one of their crimes. He is subsequently sentenced to 14 years in State Jail.
While in jail he falls into the chaplain's favor for reading the bible very studiously (which he uses to fantasize about being a cruel roman emperor or one of Jesus' torturers). He is able to qualify for the revolutionary new Ludovice Technique, which should condition him against violence. This version of Alex is transferred to the Death Mask world just after being brought to the facilities for this technique, so he has not yet received any treatment.
